Michael Almond: An All-American distance runner while at Malone College, Michael continued his passion for running into the coaching ranks as he lead his Salem Quakers CC team to a 3rd place finish in 2003, which was followed by 2 consecutive state championships the next 2 years. Michael then decided to open a Second Sole location of his own in akRUN and never looked back. His passion for the running community, knowledge of the sport, and willingness to get you in the right gear is unmatched. Catch Michael at both the akRUN Second Sole and the new Medina location.
Leo Kormanik: An Akron native and course record holder at Akron's own 4miler, The Homerun for the Homeless (18:59), no one loves Akron area running more than Leo. Boasting a 2:22 marathon last year at Chicago, Leo hopes to excel even further this fall as he shoots to go sub 2:20. Leo majored in exercise physiology at Malone College, graduating with a 4.0, and now is the manager of the Akron Second Sole location. George Hallis: Running now for over 35 years and having coached multiple state champions while at CVCA, George has experience that is near unparalleled in the running community. Currently the coach at CVCA and with thousands of miles under his shoes, George has the answers you are looking for. He has seen the transition of running footwear over the decades and can will guide you in the right direction. You can see George at the Akron store every morning during the week and most weekends.
Connie Gardner: When you think of Medina running, one name comes to mind - Connie Gardner. This superstar distance runner boasts several accolades including the prestigious USA 100k Trail Championship. A mother of two, Connie is the backbone of Second Sole Medina and was recently inducted into the Medina Athletic Hall of Fame for her running accomplishments. Her knowledge, expertise, and bright eyed personality are to die for. Come see Connie at Second Sole Medina at anytime!
